Top Summer Destinations

It’s summer once again and I’m sure most people are all geared up to spending time at the beach. Below are some recommended destinations:

1. Boracay
One of the best beaches in the world. Known for its white sand. Boracay has about 4km long lined with resorts, hotels, bars, etc. You can choose from among 3 stations on where you want to stay. Station 3 is where the most affordable lodgings applicable for backpackers, Station 2 is where most of the bars are located, and Station 1 is designed for vacationers who want peace and quiet, total relaxation and isolated accommodation. Vacationers can enjoy snorkeling, wind surfing, jet skiing, scuba diving, island hopping and a lot more.

I’ve been to Boracay once in 2002 and during that time, there were only few resorts and not ascrowded as now. Even the sand formations are not yet present. I hope to visit the place again, this time with my family.

2. Palawan
Known for its natural seascapes and landscapes, Palawan is also one of the best summer destinations. Consisting of different islands, travelers can choose where they want to spend their vacations. They can enjoy the coron reefs, the famous tubbataha reef, the underground river, el nido resorts or if you have a big budget, the amanpulo.

I have been to El Nido where we spent our honeymoon. I enjoyed kayaking at the big and small lagoon, island hopping, and also scuba diving. I also won’t forget the great service from the staff of El Nido. How I wish I can go back there. I also would love to see the underground river and see the other islands in Palawan. :)

3. Bohol

This is also a popular destination with beaches and resorts. And not only will vacationers enjoy the beaches but other tourist spots as well. They can go see the tarsiers, or the chocolate hills, or cruise at the loboc river. They can also visit Bohol’s old churches.

I’ve never been to bohol and this is one place I really would like to visit.

4. Siargao
People who love surfing will definitely love this place. Located in Mindanao, Siargao is known as the Surfing Capital of the Philippines.

I haven’t been to Siargao nor have I experienced surfing, but if given the chance, I definitely love to try it!

5. Batanes
This is one summer destination where swimming is not the activity. People love to visit the place during summer because of its cold weather being the northernmost province in the Philippines. But if you really love very cold weather, the best time to visit Batanes is from December – February when temperature can go as low as 7degrees Celsius. The place often experience rain but the lower chances of rain to pour are on the months of March-June.

This is also one of the places I really would like to see. I want to see the Ivatans and also their houses made of corals. I hope my husband and I can visit the place when the kids are old enough. :)
