Baptism Gifts and What to Give

When attending a baptism, it is customary for people attending the baptism or the celebration afterwards to give a gift to the child or adult that is being baptized. Many people buy a money card and place money into it, which usually ends up in the child's bank account for future uses. You can however, give other gifts to celebrate a person being baptized.

Many people will often give a gift such as a rosary or a Bible. You can choose to give it to them like it is or have it personalized. If you're going to personalize it, think of a thoughtful saying that the person baptized can read and remember you by. Photo frames are also popular, with a photo of the event included in the photo frame. Go to your local film developing store and choose the best picture that reminds you of how special that day was. Include a note with the photo frame letting the person baptized know how special that day was for them.

Others give jewelry, such as
John Hardy jewelry. There are many pieces to choose from and picking out the most special bracelet, ring or necklace will show the person just how great you thought the event was. Try to pick something that the person can wear often and can use it to accessorize their wardrobe.

A gift basket is another option to choose from. With a gift basket, you are able to put many gifts into one basket. That way, if you can't decide on one thing, include them all! Ideas for gift baskets include books, crosses, stuffed animals or even personally crocheted gifts.

There are also other options to purchase prayer books with the person's name embroidered on them. That way they can pray with their own unique copy. Personalized gifts are great to give to show your appreciation and love.
