Condo Hunting

A friend will be arriving from the US next week and is asking our help to look for a place where she can stay while she's here. She said she would like to stay in a condominium that's fully furnished and a great location.  She said if the room has roller shades that would be a plus.  We haven't seen one yet and we need to find one as soon as possible.  Any suggestions?

Four Steps to Fitness

Exercise makes muscles and bones strong.  Choose things you enjoy.  Drink plenty of water while being active.

  1. Warm up with a few minutes of slow movement.
  2. Increase your pace.  This gets your heart beating harder and your lungs working more.  You should find that you could increase the pace over time, as you get stronger and fit.
  3. Strengthen your muscles.  Lift weights.  Or do exercises that use your body as a weight, such as sit-ups or pushups.
  4. End with stretches.  This keeps you flexible and prevents injury.

Embarrassing!

As I mentioned in my previous post, my parents arrived here last night.  When we were having our dinner, they were teasing me how big I am and that I need to find the Most effective diet pills for women.  They said that it seems I'm bigger than my mom! Gosh!!!  I felt embarrassed but more determined to lose weight.  I know if my mom, with her age, can lose weight, I can too!

They're Here!!!

My parents and my sister arrived last night from the US and we are all happy to see them again.  My kids were ecstatic especially my eldest because he got his Iron Man toy that I asked my sister to buy.  We all got our loot and of course the kids had the most, from toys, shoes, clothes, books, etc.  I got shirts, bags, Prada shoes from my aunt, and also some lotions and perfumes.  There are still some boxes unopened when I left for work this morning and I do hope we have some loot inside it too! :D

Suelas

I was looking for a comfortable and yet very affordable flat shoes that I can use to work on Fridays and weekends. I came across Patty Laurel's blog and she blogged about Suelas so I checked the site. I was surprised to see that their shoes are affordable so I ordered one.

I got my shoes about two weeks ago and I love it. They are soft and I wore it several times already and it feels comfortable. Plus, it's easy to bring if you go on travels because you can flatten it or roll it to fit in your bag. I'm now thinking what style to buy next.

I Need One

I blogged earlier that I haven't seen my dermatologist in a long time and that I haven't taken care of my skin as what she asked me to do.  So now, here I am suffering from acne that I need to find an acne cleanser that will help me get rid of it. I know I should have listened to my doctor and protect my skin.  I just hope it's not too late and my skin will still improve once I visit her.

Hunting

One of the things that I'd like to try is to hunt.  I tried mountain climbing and I don't mind sleeping in the bushes.  I don't know if it's as easy as that because I know you also need to be patient which sometimes I am not.  I hope I can try to just sit; wait for my target, armed with rifle scopes, and hopefully take the shot when I see it.  I'd like to try that some time. :)

House Decorating

I am thinking of redecorating our house especially since my parents will be arriving later.  I really am not good at this but I want to try and see if I'll be creative enough to make a new look in our house.  Plus, I've heard of this home everything coupons where you can go online shopping and get big discounts.  Let's see what happens, who knows, I might like it and make it a hobby. :D

Derma Visit

I haven't seen my dermatologist in a long time and I feel like my face is dry and dirty.  I don't know if I need to find a new face moisturizer or I should have a facial so my face will be clean and free from acne.  I'm sure my dermatologist will scold me when she sees me for I haven't done my job and followed her advices as to what to do every night.  Funny thing is, I don't even remember the routine that I should do before night time LOL!  I should probably visit my derma soon.

Zombie

I feel like I’m a walking zombie today for I did not have proper sleep last night. The kids and I have cough that I can’t sleep because I was watching them and at the same time coughing. I’ll be attending a wedding this afternoon I need to get an eye cream just like the ones at undereyecream.net to at least lessen the darkness under my eyes. I do hope I won’t be able to look like a zombie at the wedding. 0 comments

TV Production Companies

One of the things that I used to do when I was still studying is to watch television.  I normally get mad at my mom when she turns off the television when it's time for me to take my afternoon nap or to do my homework then study.  Now, I don't get to watch television that much anymore because I don't have time and also because I let the kids watch educational shows. Anyhow, I am so amazed at one of the tv production companies here in my country because they have this noontime show running for more than 30 years already.  They have moved from one channel to another and it doesn't matter what channel they are because they are always the number 1 show in the noon time and no one can beat them!  Too bad I don't get to watch them anymore because I am at the office when they go on air.

Our company being an affiliate of one of the broadcasting companies here in our country, we get to visit their studio and have a tour.  It always amazes me when I go visit the studio and video production companies because for me it's like magic on how small the studios are and yet they make it seem big when you see it in the television.  I haven't seen though any Animation companies and I'm sure it is also worth observing.  I do hope I'll be given a chance to work with these types of companies because I'm sure it's challenging and yet fun!

Gold Coin

My parents will be home soon and will be spending Christmas here. As early as now, I’ve been thinking of what to give them for I don’t know what they want. One of the things that I plan to get for my mom is gold coin since she loves collecting different coins. She used to have these old coins of different denominations which unfortunately got stolen when a burglar went to our house years ago. I’m sure this gold coin from US Gold Bureau will make her start again her coin collection. Now all I need to think about is what to give my dad.

Losing Weight

I’m sure most women pray that they would lose weight especially those who have given birth. Like me, I have been praying that I go back to my pre-pregnancy weight and it has been 2 years since I wished for that. I took full responsibility though since I really am not strict with my diet and eat whatever I want to eat. But now, I am again hoping and praying that I will lose weight. I read about the most effective diet pills 10K and I’m really hoping that this is the answer to it. Wish me luck!

DIY is the Way to Go

You may not notice it, but your kitchen is a treasure trove of natural beauty products. Here are a few ideas that are both beautifying and money saving:

  • Mix ne egg white with a dash of lemon juice, whisk and apply for 10 minutes to make a clarifying face mask.
  • Cucumbers and cold tea bags will soothe tired and puffy eyes.
  • Avocado mixed with a teaspoon of olive oil makes a great moisturizing face mask.
  • Banana, mashed with almond oil, is great for dry hair.

Christmas Gifts

I am now crafting my list as to who I will give gifts this Christmas and what gift I will give them. I’ve been thinking of what to give my boss because it’s the first time that I will give him something and I don’t know what he likes. Maybe I should give him a cigar or a shirt, or food, I really don’t know what. I still have a few weeks to go and I guess I need to know what his likes are so I’ll be able to buy him a gift he would appreciate. J

10/10/10 Run

Tomorrow, there will be a marathon to raise funds in saving one of the rivers here in our country. I was thinking of joining but I can’t leave the kids now since we don’t have a nanny. I was hoping that running can make me lose weight and be healthy but now that I don’t have spare time yet, I need to learn more on what to do so I’ll at least lose 5-10 lbs. Anyhow, some of my officemates will join the run tomorrow and I’m sure they’ll have lots of fun.

Eating for a Healthy Heart

You can make a huge difference to your heart and to your general health just by making simple changes in the way you eat. Start gradually, and see how many of these changes you can incorporate into your daily diet. Make vegetables major part of at least one meal and eat fruit frequently – the recommended intake is five servings of vegetables and two serves of fruit daily.

  • Choose wholegrain breads instead of white varieties.
  • Eat more cereals (rice, pasta and other grains) and legumes (dried peas and beans). Try flavoring these with small amounts of lean meat, rather than basing the whole meal around meat. Like meat, legumes are a good source of iron and protein.
  • Use only very small amounts of very lean meats and avoid eating the skin of poultry.
  • Choose low-fat dairy products (milk, yogurt and cheese).
  • Eat fish (fresh or canned; avoid fried) two to three times a week.
  • Make high-fat or high-sugar bakery products, fast foods, desserts, and soft drinks occasional treat rather than everyday food.
  • Grill, boil, steam, bake, or microwave rather than fry.
  • Reduce salt intake.

Work Out Plan

I’ve been telling myself and to everybody that I really need to lose weight. I’ve been telling that for more than a year already and until now I have not achieved my desired weight. I haven’t gone back to my pre-pregnancy weight and my daughter is two years old already. I only need to lose 10-15lbs and I am having problems achieving it. I really envy those women who have given birth and lost weight right away as if nothing happened. I tried going to the gym but not regularly. Maybe I am not that focused at that time and also work piled up that I don’t get to visit as often as I can and now my membership lapsed already.

Anyway, I would like to try again and be serious this time that I know I need to come up with a workout plan to be able to achieve it. I could probably use the plan given to me when I started going to the gym and also the workout routines that I learned from the gym instructor. These routines could help tone the different muscles and I’m sure if I’ll be doing it religiously, there’ll be a significant change in my body. Thank you also to Fit Click that could serve as guide in coming up with a routine that I can use at home. I should also be careful with my diet so that I’ll be able to achieve my desired result. I hope this time I’ll be successful. Wish me luck!

Staying On Track

Avoid job burnout with these helpful tips:

  • Start the day with a relaxing ritual. Rather than jumping out of bed as soon as you wake up, spend at least 15 minutes meditating, writing in your journal, doing gentle stretches, or reading something that inspires you.
  • Adopt healthy eating, exercising, and sleeping habits. When you eat right, engage in regular physical activity, and get plenty of rest, you have the energy and resilience to deal with life’s hassles and demands.
  • Set boundaries. Don’t overextend yourself. Learn how to say “no” to requests on your time. If you find this difficult, remind yourself that saying “no” allows you to say “yes” to the things that you truly want to do.
  • Take a daily break from technology. Seat a time each day when you completely disconnect. Put away your laptop and turn off your phone.
  • Nourish your creative side. Creativity is a powerful antidote to burnout. Try something new, start a fun project, or resume a favorite hobby. Choose activities that have nothing to do with work.
  • Learn how to manage stress. When you’re on the road to burnout, you may feel helpless. But you have a lot more control over stress than you may think. Learning how to manage stress can help you regain your balance.

Too Hot

Fever in children may seem scary, but there are home care strategies from firstaidwebmd.com that we can apply to manage the situation.

  • Check your child’s temperature using a thermometer to have a reference point.
  • Use one layer of clothing and cover the child with a blanket. Do not overdress indoors because it keeps the body from cooling.
  • A sponge bath in warm water can help reduce fever. Do not use rubbing alcohol, since it can be toxic to the child.
  • Encourage the child to drink clear liquids such as chicken soup or rehydrating drinks (Pedialyte). Do no use water since it doesn’t contain the necessary electrolytes. Do not use tea or caffeine-containing products because they increase urination and fluid loss.

It is important to monitor signs of more serious medical conditions. If the temperature goes above 39 C, if rashes appear, or if there are signs of dehydration, or if fever persists, you should call your child’s doctor.

Many Hotels in New York

There are many different luxury hotel new york and finding the one that is right for you can be a real challenge. In New York some of the richest people have found that a regular hotel can save them loads of money and in this day and age that is a big thing.

Here is a list of nice hotels that don’t cost that much. The Library Hotel is not only cheap, but it also has a lot of accommodations. Each room has ten major categories of the Dewey Decimal System. They also rooms that have mini-bars in them and they have slippers and bath robes.

The Mansfield Hotel is a great place to stay as well. They have an old rustic fell to this hotel. They were also named U.S. Top resort and hotel & spa by Zagat. They have the best spa for everyone to use whenever you want.

Hotel 31 has a very nice business appeal to them. More of your business men and women stay at the Hotel 31 than anywhere else in New York for their great prices. They have a daily maid service and TVs and cable, so you can keep up with the news and still get your work done. They are also located by Park Avenue.

Neverfull

My friend’s husband gave his wife a neverfull as gift for her birthday. He said that it took them almost a month to find one because there were no stocks here in my part of the world and they also checked in some parts in the US and wasn’t able to find stocks also. Good thing they got in touch with one of their friends who recently bought the same bag and they asked her to buy one for my friend. The husband said he was giving up on the search and was just thinking of giving my friend bullion since it is a nice gift also and unique too or with its amount, she can be the one to look for her bag. Luckily, as I’ve mentioned they found someone who can get them the bag and my friend is one happy gal. :)

Fringe

Another tv show that aired last week also is Fringe. It’s one of my favorites too and I love to watch this show for I get to learn something from it despite some of its gruesome scenes. I also can’t wait to see how Peter and Olivia’s interest with each other will materialize especially since the real Olivia is trapped in the other world. If you are fond of sci-fi shows, you better watch this. :)

How To Tease A Girl

On one of our dinners while we were in La Union, our regional head was telling us that there are 3 things that a woman doesn’t want to hear. First is that they tell you that you gained weight. Second is you looked old, and third you got ugly. I told them that among those three, I can accept it if I were told that I gained weight and that I will really get hurt if I will be told that I looked old or got ugly. Maybe I should start taking hgh supplements so I would feel and look young. We were all laughing about it because our regional head was telling us tips as to how to get back to the person who teased you. Hehe! I told him I’ll try to apply his tips when the time comes. J

Chuck

I am so happy that one of my favorite tv shows started airing again last week. I don’t really know if it’s shown here in my country but I’m glad my sister downloads it that we get to watch it anytime we want. Chuck and Sarah is really a cute couple and I love watching them. I also love it the Chuck’s confidence in using his skills as an intersect improved a lot. Can’t wait to see more of Chuck this season.

Shopping

My sister is leaving for the US in a couple of days and I’m sure she’ll be doing lots of shopping when she’s there. It is also the perfect time to shop since Christmas is approaching and with her numerous godchildren, I’m sure she has a list already of their names and ages. I wish I could give her money or perhaps gold coins so she can shop for me too. Maybe I should do the same and make my own list of names, ages and corresponding budget so she’ll know what to buy for me and for my godchildren. I still have a few days to save so I can give her my money for shopping. :)

Wellness Update

We had our general assembly in the office since it’s first Friday of the month. Aside from the regular announcements, our HR also prepared some wellness updates for us. First they discussed about dengue and what to do so we won’t be infected and also they gave us instructions on what to do in case we got infected. A colleague also shared how she lost weight in less than a year. She discussed how she got motivated and what were the things she did to achieve her weight now. She also shared her diet and what other intakes she has. You may click here to see some of those drinks. I really envy her that she got her desired weight. I love her determination and I do hope I’ll have that discipline to do what she did so I can lose weight also. :)

ON is on Sale!!!

Hurry! Old Navy is on sale again! It’s the perfect time to shop for Christmas gifts so go and check if you find something you like. If only I don’t have payables this month, I’d definitely buy items online. Too bad, the kids are scheduled for vaccines and I also need to pay some of the bills so I won’t be able to shop.
