My Good Friday

As mentioned in a previous post, I went with a couple of cousins to visit seven different churches for the Way of the Cross – by means of only walking. The night before, cousin O mentioned what he planned on doing, then cousin J told me that we should try it as well, so that’s exactly what we did. So come Good Friday, we met at our designated meeting place near Quiapo Church. Thank goodness we didn’t have a hard time for that considering the size of the crowd in the area. After praying a couple of stations, we walked to Sta. Cruz church, then to Intramuros for Manila Cathedral and San Agustin Church. We then headed to Ermita Shrine, then Malate Church. This was where I got married so I was really glad that we included this church in our trip. Last on the list was Baclaran Church. This was quite a way from where we were but we decided nonetheless to go. The truth is I have never been there before so all the more reason for me to go. All these churches were visited in around 3.5 hours, which O said was fast compared to his time when he did it alone. After that we went to his house for a quick lunch before heading home. On the way home, I passed by a store to buy something which was thankfully placed in the POS display so I easily found it. Anyway, I was really glad that I went with my cousins to visit the seven churches as it’s been more than ten years since I last did that with my family. It was my little sacrifice for the Holy Week.
