The onset of menopause is usually announced by symptoms like hot flushes, defined as “a feeling of warmth that spreads over the body that begins, and is most strongly felt, in the head and neck regions.” While hot flushes are common and may begin during perimenopause, which is about two years before menstruation ceases, not all women experience the symptom. For those who do, there are natural ways to treat or alleviate the discomfort.
Stay cool. Even minimal increase to your body’s core temperature can trigger hot flushes. Wear cool clothing, open windows or air conditioning, or sip cold drinks whenever you can.
Rest and Relax. Stress is one of the most common triggers, so stress-reducing techniques may be helpful. Do yoga, meditate, or just rest.
Deep Breathing. Exercises on deep breathing have been proven to help combat hot flushes. Do this by sitting comfortably, and inhaling deeply for five seconds, and exhaling for five seconds. Repeat the cycle until you feel calm and relaxed. Do this for 15 minutes twice a day.

It's facts like these that make me scared about reaching menopause stage! Yikes! Good thing I probably still have 15 or so years before it hits me....I pray! :(
