It's About Time

Valentine’s Day is over, and now the streets are just about empty of hawkers peddling flowers. To tell you the truth, since we’ve been together, I’ve given my flowers to my wife only twice. None of them was for Valentine’s since we don’t really celebrate that. But I think it’s about time I give her another one. All girls like flowers, right? At this age, sending flowers is just a mouse click away. Send flowers to Hartford to your special someone there, or anywhere else for that matter. Let me just check on what I’ll send to my wife.

CNT

PAL will be having a payday sale tomorrow and I’m thinking if I’ll book a trip to Cebu for our anniversary. I’m really looking forward to spending more quality time with my family and perhaps going there is what we need. Aside from that, I’m looking forward to eating CNT lechon again LOL! When I was there last December, my colleague said a trip to Cebu won’t be complete without dropping by CNT and taste their famous lechon. And yes, it was indeed yummy that I decided to bring some when I went back to Manila hehe! Anyhow, we will see tomorrow if PAL has a very good promo and if my husband will approve of it. I’m crossing my fingers now. :)

It's Complicated

Finally, I was able to finish a legal thriller that I started reading earlier this year. I wasn’t able to read it everyday so it took me quite some time. Anyway, it was about a huge life insurance scam and a just-passed-the bar lawyer trying to expose it. Before reading it, I thought there was just one type of life insurance. But lo and behold, I was surprised that there were several life insurance types out there. And I thought that it just couldn’t get any more complicated. 0 comments

Coffee Brewer

We just received an invitation to the wedding of a friend of ours. We have known the couple for several years and it is just apt to say that it was about time they tied the knot. The couple has been inseparable since they met and all that was lacking was a wedding. So here we are again on the no definite answer to the never ending question. What do we get them for their wedding? We haven’t received any invitation yet, and they hadn’t mentioned about giving monetary gifts instead of traditional gifts. But as I look back at the times we have spent with them, we have learned that they are both coffee lovers - coffee connoisseurs if you will. So what better to give them but the thing that gives and presents them their passion and love of life – a coffee brewer. And since they like their coffee so much, we should give them one of the best coffee makers around. Personally, I’d look for stainless steel coffee makers as it is sturdier than the ones made with plastic. It makes it easier to see coffee stains on the brewer as well. Plus, you better get the brand that also have filters, accessories and replacement parts available; like if your carafe breaks, it would be such a waste to buy a whole new coffeemaker when all you need is a carafe, right?

Cute Espadrilles

I head about this from a friend who mentioned it in twitter a couple of weeks ago. Their shoes are really cute and I’m sure my kids will love it! They also have nice colors for adults and my husband liked it too. I sent them an email asking for the price and other details and I’ll let you know once I got a reply. We plan to get a pair for each of us including the kids and I do hope they have a good quality. We’ll see! :)

Asking for Tips

I saw my cousin yesterday during the birthday of his son and she’s asking me for tips on how to remove belly fat. She gave birth a year ago via caesarian section and she said her tummy still looks like she’s 5 months pregnant! I told her we have the same problem and I’m still trying to address mine by doing some exercise, being careful with my diet and doing some sit ups. She said she’ll do the same and we hope we achieve our goals.

Maybe this is a Sign

Most of the tasks that were given to me talks about losing weight, getting fit, diet pill review or about eating the right food. I’ll take it as a sign that I really need to lose weight. I feel big already and of course I look big. I have problems looking for clothes because of my big hips and thighs and can’t even buy online for fear that it won’t fit me. I guess it’s really high time that I take losing weight very seriously. Good luck to me!

Thanks Mom!

My kids love to munch anything when they watch tv or even when they do artworks. They eat crackers, biscuits, cereals, etc that sometimes they start opening one pack and will open another one even if they have not finished eating the first pack yet. I know it’s a bad habit and I’m trying to teach them not to do it again. But thanks to my mom’s food storage, the kids’ food are preserved well because we put it there right after they’re finished eating. :)

Baby Boom!

I received good news this week. Two people close to me are expecting! One is my cousin and another one is a colleague. Both were really praying for a child and now they’ll have one in a few months time. I told them to take care and take the prenatal multivitamin that their OB will give them. My colleague has been married for almost 5 years already while my cousin has been married for 2 years and both of them really wants to have a child. I now include them in my prayers that they have a safe pregnancy and that their child will be healthy. :)

Rock River Arms

Today is the birthday of a friend of mine E who I haven’t heard from or the longest time. Actually he’s the friend of my former boss J when I was still working overseas. I believe they met in a tradeshow several years ago then they swapped business cards and they’ve been working together since. Anyway, boss J invited us all to dinner to meet E and some prospective clients. To make a long story short, we didn’t get to snag that client but I could say that E and I hit it off pretty well. We found out that we have the same hobbies and that he also goes hunting from time to time. He even invited me to go hunt with him when I get to his place. He told me stories of his little hunting expeditions there, there was even a time he came face-to-face with a bear. Now that I’m not very keen on. I haven’t been in circulation when it comes to firearms but he was quick to fill me in on the stuff I’ve missed. It turns out he has a multitude of firearms at his house from Rock river arms rifles, Kimber rifles, to old-fashioned Colt pistols. I wonder how that old big guy is doing. Happy birthday E!

I got an alert from Cebu Pacific that they are having a sale for 10 Mindanao destinations. These are Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato, Davao, Dipolog, General Santos, Ozamiz, Pagadian, Surigao or Zamboanga. I got excited with this one because I was in Mindanao a couple of weeks ago for one whole week and I love the place! I was in Ozamiz, Davao, Zamboanga and Bukidnon and I really want to go back there. I was there for work and we didn’t have the time to enjoy the place. My husband got a free ticket valid within six months and he doesn’t know yet where to use it. We’ll talk on where we can go and I hope we can decide soon while Cebu Pac is still on sale. J

Young Looking

I was checking out facebook and saw a picture of the mom of one of my friends and she looks so fab. I don’t know if she applies any anti wrinkle cream but she really looks so young despite her age and I really wish I can be like her when I reach that age too. My friend said her mom really takes care of her skin and that’s what I’m going to do too! :)

Decisions

Whenever my wife and I go shopping, we always notice that most of the clothes on display are for those with a fit and trim build. We have to admit, we are not the best human specimens when it comes to the fit and trim category. I sometimes kid her that I have to take testosterone supplements so that I can be all buffed up. Fortunately, she says that I don’t have to look like that and she loves me the way I am, bless her heart. It's either that or she’s trying to do some reverse psychology on me.

A Different Valentine's Day

My husband and I don’t celebrate Valentine ’s Day ever since we became a couple. And last Monday was a first. My sister gave us tickets for John Ford Coley’s show in Eastwood and since it’s near our house, we decided to watch it. We were even teasing each other on our way there that we might be the youngest in the audience since his songs were popular even before we were born hehe! Surprisingly, there were a lot of couples the same age as ours watching him too. And I have to admit, I had fun watching his show. I think among all the songs he sang, there were only two songs that I don’t know. Hehe! Thanks to the influence of my two uncles who let us listen to his songs when we were still little.

Rock Clothing

Whenever my wife and I go out shopping, she always comments that girls have a lot more fun. There’s a myriad of varieties of clothes to choose from, plus you can mix and match articles to have endless possibilities of outfits. This is especially true when it comes to baby and kids clothes. No, I don’t dispute that as it really is obviously true. Us men, we don’t dawdle when it comes to shopping, especially for clothes. Before we go out of the house, we already know what to buy. We’d already have a mental image on what it is and what it looks like. So for men, it’s usually just grab-and-go when it comes to shopping. It just comes down to the design. Men’s clothes are – as some may call it – boring. Yeah it can be if you look at the conservative stuff. You can put more fun in it through the design. This way, you don’t have to look further than metal shirts. I myself have a few metal t shirts in my closet. Rock clothing adds a certain character if worn right. It exudes a certain appeal. It’s also one of the ways in which you can express yourself.

Hcg

I just had a very hearty meal. Actually, I think it’s a little too hearty if you know what I mean. You see I missed breakfast this morning because my son’s school bus came a bit earlier than usual, plus he told me that he wanted me to come with him to school which wasn’t part of my plan today, so I skipped breakfast so that I could come with him. That’s why at lunchtime today, I ate more than I should because I just felt so hungry.

I’m not trying to justify the reason I overate today. I really am on the pudgy side and I need to lose some weight myself. To tell you the truth, I haven’t tried shedding those pounds in the last four years. Yes there’s a lot of ways to do it from exercise, diet, to surgical procedures like liposuction and such. There’s even new weight loss treatment through the use of hormones, like Hcg. This treatment is done through the use of hcg drops coupled with a specialized very low calorie hcg diet plan. The More Choices - The Better

With all the time I have now in my hands, I could now practically do anything I want. I could just slack around, get myself a console and just sit back and enjoy whatever new ps3 game is out there. I have never had a game console, ever, so that’s why if I’m getting myself one, it’ll most definitely be a ps3 because of the sheer size of their gaming library. The more choices, the better.

Before I left for Mindanao last week, I got a package from online friend L containing the VS loot we bought last year when they had a sale. It was really a steal and my friends and I just shared with the shipping. It was only today that I opened the package and I can’t wait to wear them! Truck Accident

I was browsing through the Yahoo homepage when I saw a video clip of a truck with its top full of snow carelessly drive through a bridge. You know what happens next; the snow on top of the truck hits the bridge, creating an instant white-out on the highway. The video was taken by a passenger of a vehicle behind the truck. I’d be scared if I was driving behind that truck as there was zero visibility behind it for a few seconds when the snow hit the bridge. You wouldn't know what was ahead of you. It’s because of careless drivers like these can create accidents on the road. If you’re driving through the highways of Illinois or Texas or wherever, it’s better to know where to reach some Texas truck accident lawyer or wherever you’re from. You never know when you need them.

My Conditions

I’m slowly trying to make my way back to the regular workforce. I might even try another field, but whatever job I take, it just has to be near the house. It doesn't have to be like 5 minutes from the house. Just as long as I wouldn't have to go on an almost three-hour commute like last time. Other conditions are it has to be a cozy and comfortable place and friendly people to work with. Avant-garde office décor aren’t necessary but would be nice.

Our Own Little Share

Environmental concern is growing fast in everyone as several places around the world are being ravaged by unusual but natural calamities. It is times like these that goad people to do something about it.

As a household, we can do our share of preserving the environment by using eco friendly products. One way is to ensure that our home insulation is installed properly and well-maintained. If not, we could be wasting precious energy by using the heater or air conditioner more often than necessary. Another way is to harness the energy from our most abundant source, the sun. We could use solar powered outdoor lighting to light up the yard at night. With this, there would be no increase in our electric bill, thereby not using the electricity on the grid, limiting the use of fossil fuels.

There’s an even easier way to help, by using reusable shopping bags . Let’s face it, everyone goes to the store or the mall or to the grocer to buy the necessary things. All or most of the time, when we make the purchase, they’ll put it in a plastic or a paper bag. Some stores charge you for a bag but you’ll have to lug your purchases around until you get home. But by bringing our own bags, we wouldn't have to use the one from the store, limiting waste. It may not seem very much but imagine if we all had the same idea and did our own little share. Surely that would make a big difference.

Meet People Online

Valentine’s Day is approaching and there are some singles out there who visit singles dating websites to see if they can find someone whom they can spend Valentine’s Day with and hopefully be their partner. I have two friends who met their partners online and they are really happy with their relationship. One got married two years ago while the other one is still enjoying their relationship as boyfriend-girlfriend. I have to admit, I admire those people who look for partners online because I was not able to do that when I was still single. I never tried to meet singles online because I was scared that they are not honest with me since I don’t see them personally nor know them at all. But that’s just me because based on the experience of my friends, they are glad they took the risk and now they are happy.

Anyhow, I have several friends now who I’ve met online and I’m really happy with how our friendship blossomed. I may not always be present when they talk online or when they go out to meet but I know I can count on them on anything. I’m really glad I decided to meet people online because it made me gain more friends and it’s a friendship that I know can last a lifetime. :)

How to Look Sexy

Ever since I gave birth to my second child, I have not gone back to my pre-pregnancy weight. Not only that, my hips have grown wider than what it used to be. And comes with that are my arms and thighs. I would result to having a liposuction just to have my weight back. Maybe I’ll do that if I have extra money. :)

I also noticed that if you are in the show business industry here in my country, I’m sure you’d see that almost all artists have gone through the surgery to look sexy. And some even went through cosmetic surgery to look better. It has been the trend of almost all artists here and sometimes I wonder why they need to do it. But whenever I hear comments from people of how they want their idols to look like I understand now why they have to go through all of those.

Anyhow, having a liposuction is not bad. If it helps to boost your self-esteem and make you feel good about yourself, then why not do it. I’m sure if I have enough money, I would have gone through the same and have my arms, thighs and hips look tighter. I’m sure I’ll feel better and most of all my husband will love it! :)

The Search Is On

I recently resigned from my job. There are several reasons why I left but one of them is that I’d like to try a different industry. Right now I’m checking out different sites for jobs for health care, IT, and other fields. The only condition is it should be preferably near our house. In my last job I had to commute for up to three hours in the morning and another three hours gong home. That’s a total of six hours each day. Busy Bee

Monday is going to be a really busy day for me. I have to go to an office in Makati to pick up some documents, go to Quezon City to have it signed, then go back to two different offices in Makati to hand over the signed documents. Man, dealing with legal documents is really complicated. But what’s important is after I get this done, I’m going to be a very happy man. Well, I better get some address labels, lest I mix up those documents.
