Better Fixtures

One of our helpers called my husband’s attention the other day to one of the lighting fixtures we had on one corner of the house. The light wouldn’t turn on so we figured it was just a busted bulb. He put a new bulb, but it had the same problem, so he tried the old bulb in a different socket and it lit up instantly. It looks like we have to get new better quality outdoor lighting fixtures for the house.

Wish Granted

I posted here a few days ago some of the things I wish to receive this Christmas. Santa came early for I got one of the items in my wish list. It was delivered to our house last Friday and upon seeing it, I’m really happy with my purchase. Thanks to friends who influenced me to buy one hehe! I got what I wanted and I’m really excited to use it!

Our Play Time

My kids and I always play before going to sleep at night. My son seems to have a knack in building things and usually likes playing with his building blocks. My daughter on the other hand looks like she’s going to be an equestrian as she always likes to ride on my or her dad’s back. Next thing I know she might ask for a horse as a birthday gift. If that happens she should settle with some riding boots at first.

Ebooks

My online friends are into reading ebooks now and are exchanging their collections. Thanks to them, I get to have copies too. I don’t have an iPad, iPhone or a Kindle for that matter but thanks to my trusted low tech cellphone (which I hope to upgrade soon :D) I get to read those books too. I normally read them when I put my kids to sleep or when I travel. All the shopaholic series I read are all ebooks and also Something Borrowed and Something Blue. I just finished reading Love the One You’re With also by Emily Giffin and now I’ll start to read A Promising Man by Elizabeth Young as recommended by my friend J. I’ll let you know if it’s a good read, but based on her recommendations, she never fails to recommend a good book. ;)

Something for the Husband

Superhero movies have again become increasingly popular. I know of several movies that are coming out within the year. The kids and I were able to catch Thor in the big screen, they also showed the trailer for Captain America. One thing I saw that those two heroes / actors have in common is the amount of muscles they have. They are both oh so ripped. I figure they were able to achieve such results with the help of the best muscle building supplement available. I wonder if I could get some of those supplements for my husband.

Fast Five

My sister, my husband and I watched Fast Five at SM Marikina last Saturday. I just watched a movie last week with my friends and this time I watched a movie again. This is a little new since I don’t get to watch movies that often anymore.

Anyhow, we heard good reviews about this film which made us curious as to how good it is. I really don’t remember if I was able to watch Fast and the Furious 2, 3 and 4 but I do remember watching the first one. Same thing goes for my sister and my husband said he was able to watch 1 and 4 and can’t remember if he saw 2 and 3 also.

The movie is good; there are some scenes that are too good to be true and also some scenes that reminded me of the movie triple x which stars Vin Diesel also. What I liked more about it aside from featuring fast cars and all that is it shows how they value family and friends, oh and also the ending. *wink wink*

Enough said, you can still catch the movie if you want to watch it. It’s still showing in theaters nationwide. :)

Cost Comparison

I was driving home the other day when I saw several billboards advertising various insurance companies. I admit all those jargon confuse me and feels like it was a different language altogether. And if I read it, I’d be lost by the third line. What’s even harder would be when it’s time to compare all the other quotes from the other companies. Thankfully, the guys over at Wholesale Insurance make it easy for everyone to compare quotes and rates online of term life insurance.

Yoga

My SIL and her family visited us yesterday at home and she told me she started doing yoga just recently. And she was amazed as to how it helped her lose weight that fast. And of course I got interested since I really want to lose weight and I don’t do regular exercise anymore so I’m hoping doing the yoga will do the trick.

My SIL said she started with the plank position and believe it or not, she only lasted for 5 seconds where it’s supposed to be 60 sec. But she said that those seconds really made her perspire and she’s doing 10-15 seconds now. I can’t wait to try it too!

She gave me a website that has different yoga positions such as Down Dog, Down Dog Split, Down Dog Knee to Forehead, Low Lunge, High Lunge, High Lunge with Twist, and Rotated Triangle all of which has instructions as to how to do it and for how long and all looks challenging! I can’t wait to try them all at home and hopefully will lose weight fast. Wish me luck! :)

Family Visit

Yesterday, we visited an aunt and an uncle that was vacationing here in our city. They were here for a few weeks and flew back last night. We wanted to spend more time with them but had to leave early so they could rest and prepare for their long flight home especially for the uncle because he suffers from back pains. That all started when he had an accident at work several years ago. It was fortunate he was awarded benefits and therefore didn’t need to file disability appeal. I guess they just got home at the time of this writing. I know they just got there but I can’t wait to see them again. Hopefully if all goes well, we’ll be the ones visiting them next year.

Something Borrowed

My friends and I watched this movie last Saturday at Greenbelt 3. Based on Emily Giffin’s chic lit novel, this is a story about friends and relationships. I won’t tell you much about the story because you might be planning on watching it too. But all I can say is the casting is great! Kate Hudson is perfect on her role as Darcy, while Colin Egglesfield is so yummy and fits his role as Dex. Same thing goes for Ginnifer Goodwin as Rachel and I so love John Krasinski as Ethan. Steve Howey as Marcus though is a big disappointment.

If you want to watch a feel good movie, I recommend you watch this one. And it’s a plus seeing a super hot guy in Dex. ;)

Bank Repos

We were at the bank this morning paying our bills when we saw on a corner the listing of some of the bank’s repossessed vehicles and real estate properties. Naturally we checked the items that we thought would be best for us. There was a house located in a village not far from here. For the more adventurous types out there, there was an rv listed there as well. An rv is basically a house with wheels if you’re going to purchase one, it’s best to get the rv insurance quote with comprehensive coverage. Better safe than sorry, right?

Wish List

Since I was not able to receive anything last Mother's Day, I am here now posting my wish list for Christmas. It's never too early right? :)

1.Iphone 4 - I badly need to upgrade my cell phone and this is what I want. There are rumors though that Iphone5 will be released this July, but I don't think I can afford it hehe! We'll see, but for now, this is what I want.

2. Lumix 5 - I heard it takes great pictures! We don't have an SLR so I really want this one. We have a very simple point and shoot camera and I want to replace it na.

3. Service car - Not really the one in the picture but any service car will do. I was promised by the HR that if I accept their counter offer I'll be given a service car early next year (which was supposedly last Jan-Feb) but until now I have not received it so I do hope that before the year ends, I'll be able to have my service car.

4.
Tote bag - I've been wanting either of this for a long time but I can't afford it. I do hope that I'll get to own one before Christmas. :) Incidentally, my friend is selling some gucci totes and I hope to get a good deal. *wink wink*

5. Ipad 2 - Honestly, I really don't think I'll need this one but I just want to try them out and see how good this is really is based on reviews. So this one is least of my priority, but if Santa wants to be generous, I won't mind having one. :)

Mother's Day Weekend

was spent here...
We planned this vacation a couple of months ago without realizing that it will fall on Mother's Day. But just the same, we had a great time. I will blog about our travel here next time. But one thing I can say, the trip is really worth it and highly recommended! :)

Starting Tomorrow

My sister and I are planning to do some brisk walking starting early morning tomorrow. We both want to shed some unwanted pounds. Additionally, I really like wearing dresses and it’s just depressing when you can hardly fit in them. There’s a whole slew of weight loss products out there like oxyelite, so does oxyelite pro work? I really can’t say, but if I’m going to take supplements, I better ask my physician first to be sure.

Thor

My son was asking me if he can watch Thor and so is my husband. My sister saw it yesterday and she said that it was a nice film. So this afternoon, we decided to watch Thor together; that’s me, my husband, my son and my daughter. It was also the kids’ first time to watch a movie so we’re excited for them too. My husband first took my son to watch Up but my son got scared when the lights were out when the movie was about to start so they left the movie house. Today, we were scared that it might be the same but thank God, both of them did not get scared. My son enjoyed the movie, and was even noisy inside the theater. He kept on asking questions and making some comments. My daughter on the other hand fell asleep during the movie and woke up only when it was over. But we’re glad that she did not get scared inside the movie house.

Anyhow, it was a good film. I am not familiar with Thor’s story but I enjoyed watching it. Too bad I missed some of the scenes because my son asked me to accompany him to the bath room twice and also to buy water for him. I won’t talk about the movie here in my post because you might want to watch it. All I can say is that it is highly recommended. :) 0 comments

Decked in Gold

I think it’s safe to say that you’ve seen the royal wedding last Friday. I saw only just a few parts of the ceremony (I did see the hat though) but from what I’ve seen and heard, it was indeed perfect. Did you notice the uniforms of the men of royalty? Each of the men had at least one medal on their chest. I wonder if they had the medals exchanged, cash for gold, how much would all those amount to? More than I could count I believe.
