Labels: treatI have a cousin who’s now a college freshman. Her mom was complaining about the tuition fee and on other miscellaneous fees. Good thing though, she doesn’t have to buy most of her college books. The only ones she needs to buy are those of the work books and the ones used for laboratory.
I remember my college days. My mom had the same problem as her mom with regards to the tuition so I don’t have new books too. I think I only had new books during the first semester of my freshman year. Good thing I became a member of an organization in school during that semester and the members of the org especially those from the higher level, like the sophomores, were willing to sell their old books. So for the second semester, I told my mom not to worry anymore for I found some students that will sell their old books, and these books are in mint condition.
It was really a relief on my mom’s part because at least it will lessen the expenses. We all know the importance of books to students and not having one is really a challenge especially during exams. Thankfully, I did not have to worry on not having books during those times. I should probably share this story to my cousin and hope that this serves as her guide to buying text books. :)
LeapPad
Labels: entertainment, kidsI saw in leapfrog’s site that they are going to launch a new tablet designed for kids called the LeapPad. I’ve been contemplating on buying for my kids so I won’t have to share my laptop with them. I do hope though that it won’t be that expensive for I may have to buy two so that the kids won’t fight over one tablet. Anyhow, I read the features of the LeapPad and I think my kids are going to love it! Can’t wait for the launch!

Labels: family, home, treatWe’re really glad that we have good weather this weekend and hopefully on the next coming days. The past week was really scary due to the storm that hit our country. Good thing the local officials are geared and ready for whatever will happen. I even saw some people they hired cutting branches of the trees with their echo chainsaw to prevent accidents. Last Friday it was raining non-stop that I packed my kids’ clothes and milk just in case we need to evacuate. Thank God despite the down pour, our street was not flooded. Anyhow, we’re praying for good weather this week for my parents’ arrival.
Belly Dancing
One of the things I miss doing the most is belly dancing. I love dancing and this is one of the dances / classes that I love attending when I go to the gym. It seems an easy dance but it’s not. I always feel numb in the arms when we start dancing already. I remember the teacher always tells us, “sacrifice for beauty” since most of us are complaining already. LOL! Also you need to properly execute the dance like the shimmy so you won’t look silly when dancing hehe! Unfortunately, my membership in the gym expired already and I have not renewed it nor converted it to life time membership. I badly need exercise and I also need to lose a great amount of weight and I hope I’ll be able to renew my membership to the gym again this year. Wish me luck!

Labels: money, tips, treatEven the banking industry is now going to great lengths in order to keep with up modern technology. With almost everyone glued to their laptops and mobile phones 24/7, banks are trying to finds ways on how their clients can experience high quality and excellent banking service. Now you can even transfer funds or check your account balances online or thru text messaging.
Banking has truly gone a long way. Most account holders are also using their debit cards for just about anything: gas, food, groceries and shopping. But even in this modern society, there are still those who opt to the traditional method of using personalized checks. One of perks of using checks is that you can easily track and control your expenses. If you update your checkbook on a regular basis, you’ll be able to monitor your expenses and account status thus preventing you to incur an overdraft.
The customized design is also something that keeps the customer’s interest. From the background image to the text printed, everything will be according to your style preference. Only one important thing that check holders should keep in mind is to avoid putting too much personal information especially the social security number on the checks. This can make you more susceptible to fraud and identity theft.
Personalized checks are something that will never be outdated because even with the latest in technology some bank customers will still follow the traditional banking practice which has been tried and tested for a good number of years.

Labels: movies
My son is looking forward to watching Transformers 3. He enjoyed watching Transformers 1 and 2 and have seen it a hundred times! And he's really excited that it will be showing this coming week and told me already that he wants to see it in the big screen. I do hope the theaters won't be full when we watch or better yet, we'll just go early for the first screening.Easy Reading

Missing Grey's Anatomy
Labels: treat, tvOne of the shows that I love to watch is grey’s anatomy. I learn a lot of medical stuff and also on how to handle emergencies. I also try to put myself sometimes on the shoes of the parents who have a sick child and how to deal with it. I really don’t know if I’ll be able to handle those kinds of situations wherein my children will get into an accident or will get sick which can lead to death. I always pray that I won’t be put in that kind of situation. Anyhow, sometimes, I also try to imagine myself what it would be like if I were a doctor wearing scrub suits just like this one http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/Scrubs-for-Women/Original-Scrubs/ I don’t know if I’ll be able to operate and save the person. But I really like their scrubs which can be of different styles or colors just like cherokee scrub tops or those burnt orange scrubs for the male.
Back to grey’s anatomy, I heard that it will be the last season of Patrick Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo and I’m sure the last season will be a good one. I can’t wait to watch it!

Going On A Trip...
I’ll be going on another out-of-town trip tomorrow morning, to Bicol again, for another demo on the water filtration system that I handle at work. I’ll be gone for a total of three days. The first and third day will be spent on traveling to and from the province while the second day will be for the demo itself. I will surely miss the kids when I’m away. I just hope that the trip will be all worthwhile and would have very positive results!
